Copywriting
I have been a freelance copywriter for 7 years and have worked with a diverse group of companies helping them define their voice, write strategic copy, and capture their brand messaging. I am remarkably good at one thing: filling in the blanks. I don’t just fill in the blanks, I give them life.
My background of writing in all forms — technical, marketing, creative, personal, wild — funnels down to engaging, creative copy that captures the essence of my clients. My niche is attention-grabbing. I am skilled at crafting brand voices, punchy taglines, and content that makes readers rethink.
My mission is to craft effective copy to capture your target audience and drive engagement. I write a wide genre of material including websites, blogs, articles, marketing brochures, technical documents, presentations, and investor communications. I am very creative, organized, self-motivated, and an excellent researcher.
My previous clients include:
- Wind energy companies
- Solar energy companies
- Apparel companies
- Dating websites
- Guest content for blogs
- Start-ups just getting going
My previous content includes:
- Website creation/revamp
- Sales brochures and email marketing
- Presentations/Pitch Decks
- Investor communications
- Ghostwriting for blogs
- Taglines/Branding
I love bringing companies to life by serving as their storyteller and translating strategy into compelling copy. I love that my work allows me to explore so many aspects of the world. I love what I do — it’s constant learning, and I’m grateful for all of it.
ABOUT ME
My name is Sunna (“Sun-uh”) von Christierson (don’t worry about that one, just go with “von C”) and while I have a very complicated name, I have a very simple purpose — I fill in the blanks.
I have been a writer my entire life and throughout my career. I have a master’s degree in Earth Systems Science, Public Policy and Management from Columbia University, which means I speak science, economics, and politics.
I also speak chicken, but that’s for another day.
In my previous decade, I was a wind energy developer for a company from startup through IPO and finally acquisition. In addition to my multiple roles, I wrote real estate easements, power marketing proposals, investor reports, landowner communications, and company brochures.
My colleagues used me as the proof reader for important emails and also important party invitations.
I took a career pause to raise my two kids, then the exit ramp from renewable energy, and in 2015 I started freelance copywriting.
PERSONAL WORK
I write for myself on the side and you can check out my blog Things They Forgot to Mention or my publications on the Medium (@sunnavonc). I write about the big things, the little things, and all the big things in the little things. I may be going through a midlife crisis, but it’s cool because it’s bringing out my weird.
